The Gruffalo - Sensory-Friendly

Join Mouse on a daring adventure through the deep, dark wood in Tall Stories’ magical, musical adaptation of the classic picture book. Searching for hazelnuts, Mouse meets the cunning Fox, the eccentric old Owl and the party -mad Snake. Will the story of the terrifying Gruffalo save Mouse from ending up as dinner for these hungry woodland creatures? After all, there’s no such thing as a Gruffalo – is there?

Playhouse Square is pleased to present this special sensory-friendly matinee for guests on the autism spectrum and their families, as well as those with sensory challenges or developmental disabilities. Children, families and groups requiring a sensory-friendly environment are most welcome.

What makes a performance sensory-friendly?

• Lower sound levels, especially for startling or loud sounds

• Guests are free to talk, leave their seats and move freely during the performance

• House lights in the theater will be left on low throughout the performance

• Designated calming areas staffed by volunteer specialists in the theater lobby

• Judgment-free environment, welcoming to all
